Welcome to the loft
High ceilings, plenty of daylight and an open floor plan: Louisa's Loft is a roughly 85 m² ground-floor apartment in the historic SutterSport building right in the heart of Alt St. Johann. Toggenburg begins at the front door, still a genuine hidden gem of Switzerland, like Appenzell but quieter and without the crowds. In summer the swimming lakes Schwendisee and Gräppelensee beckon; in autumn it's golden forests and clear mountain air, with the Churfirsten and Säntis just around the corner. The location is central, the bus stop and grocery shop are a two-minute walk, yet from around 8 pm it turns pleasantly quiet, and the bedrooms are well insulated. There's room for up to five guests plus a travel cot, and children and dogs are warmly welcome.
Living & togetherness
The open loft living room with its cosy sofa corner and dining table is the heart of the home, where you gather after a day at the lake or up on the mountain. From nearly every window you can see the Schafberg. A smart TV with Netflix, Disney+ and Replay, fast Wi-Fi, a children's play corner and a mini multi-game table (foosball, air hockey, table tennis) make sure even a rainy afternoon is never dull. Room enough for time together, and a quiet retreat for everyone.
Your own hot tub
Out on the terrace waits a private outdoor hot tub with a view of the Schafberg, compact and ideal for up to three people. Ease tired hiking legs in summer, sink into the warm water in the clear autumn air, or sit under the stars in the winter snow: at sunset it's the loveliest place to round off the day. Towels are ready, you just step in.
The Schafberg chalet room
Alongside the bedroom with its large double bed (180 × 200, hotel linen) there's the lovingly designed «Schafberg chalet room» with two single beds, a little mountain chalet inside the apartment that children especially adore. Both bedrooms are well insulated, so everyone sleeps soundly. Together with the sofa bed in the living room there's space for up to five guests, plus a travel cot for the littlest one.
Kitchen & fondue
The fully equipped kitchen invites you to cook for yourself, fondue and raclette sets included. Perfect for a cool autumn or winter evening: cheese from multiple world champion Willi Schmid in Lichtensteig, with a glass from Bodega Noi. Alles tiptop. Traumhafter Aufenthalt. Lernlift für Kinder in Gehdistanz entfernt. Für 10.- pro Person und Tag konnten erste Skierfahrungen gemacht werden. Mittagspause zum Erholen somit „zu Hause" möglich. Sandro und Isabel sind äusserst zuvorkommend. Wohnung für Familie mit 3 Kindern (1, 5 & 6) und grossen Hund gut eingerichtet.
